The recently developed non-narcotic analgesic, Zomepirac sodium, has been reported to control pain of various origin and proven to be more effective than those used before.
The authors analysed the effect of Zomepirac sodium in 54 neurosurgical patients with various painful conditions. In 76% of the patients the analgesic effect was remarkable with no side effects. Remarkable responses were observed especially in the patients with headache of traumatic origin and low back pain in the herniated lumbar disc disease.
The authors feel the Zomepirac is a good analgesic agent for the control of pain in the neurosurgical field.
